District Level Inspection Committee Conducts Inspection of CCIs in Soreng District
Soreng, 11/03/2026: The District Level Inspection Committee conducted an inspection of three Child Care Institutions (CCIs) functioning under Soreng District to review their functioning, infrastructure, and overall compliance with prescribed standards for child protection and welfare.
The inspection was led by Shri D. R. Bista, ADM, Soreng, accompanied by Mrs Gauri Tamang,CDPO, Shri Peter Rai,DCPO, Chairperson and Members of CWC, Mrs. T M Sharma, Child Protection Officer, Shri T N Thapa member and others officials.
The committee members undertook a comprehensive review of the facilities, management practices, safety standards, living conditions, nutrition, healthcare provisions, and record maintenance of the institutions.
During the inspection, the committee interacted with the management and staff of the institutions and also held interactions with the children residing in the CCIs to understand their well-being and the services being provided. Particular emphasis was laid on ensuring adherence to the guidelines under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and the standards prescribed for the effective functioning of Child Care Institutions.
Shri D. R. Bista stressed the importance of maintaining a safe, nurturing, and child-friendly environment in all CCIs. He directed the concerned authorities and management committees to ensure strict compliance with all statutory provisions, proper upkeep of facilities, and the overall welfare and development of the children.
The inspection committee also reviewed documentation related to admission, case files, health records, education, and rehabilitation measures for the children. Necessary suggestions and directions were issued to further improve service delivery and institutional care.
