Inauguration of Farm School on Integrated Organic Farming System
Namchi, March 10: The Farm School on Integrated Organic Farming System was inaugurated at the field of Shri. Ram Dhoj Rai at Upper Lingee under Lingee Sokpay GPU, Yangang. The programme was attended by Hon’ble Panchayat members, Deputy Director, Agriculture, Ms. Vaishnu Rai, ADO Ms. Florenz Bhutia, AI, Ms. Tshering Yangchen Bhutia, farm school students, and officials from the Agriculture Department.
Ms. Florenz Bhutia delivered the welcome address and briefed the farmers on the mandates of ATMA, along with the concept and functioning of Farm Schools.
The technical session was conducted by Ms. Vaishnu Rai, who served as the resource person. She highlighted the importance of Integrated Farming Systems for sustainable agriculture and elaborated on the role of Trichoderma in crop protection, including the process of its reculturing.
A practical demonstration on the reculturing of Trichoderma was also conducted during the programme. The session was followed by an interactive discussion where farmers actively participated and clarified their queries.
The programme concluded with the distribution of Trichoderma and Microchill to the participating farmers.
Ms. Tshering Yangchen Bhutia served as the master of ceremonies for the event while Mr. Bijay Gurung, MA gave the vote of thanks.
