Visit of Central Nodal Officer to PM SHRI Schools in Pakyong District.
Pakyong, March 9: A field visit of the Central Nodal Officer (CNO) under the PM SHRI Scheme was conducted in Pakyong District from 7th to 9th March 2026 to review the implementation of the scheme in the district.
The visit was undertaken by Ms. Monalisa Dash, Joint Secretary (IFoS, SK 2003), Department of AYUSH, Government of India, who has been designated as the Central Nodal Officer for Pakyong District, Sikkim, for monitoring the implementation of PM SHRI Schools.
During the visit, the following PM SHRI schools in Pakyong District were inspected:
• PM SHRI Dikling Senior Secondary School
• PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Pakyong
• PM SHRI Rhenock Senior Secondary School
The CNO was accompanied by officials from the Head Office, District, Subdivision and Block levels. Officials present during the visit included Mrs. Lamkila Bhutia, Joint Director, and Mr. Deoraj Bagdas, Assistant Director from the Head Office. From the district level, Mrs. Poonam Pradhan, Joint Director, Mrs Gita Sharma , Deputy Director and Mr. Krishna Psd Dawari, District Coordinator, were present.
From the subdivision level, Mr. Kumar Pradhan, Additional Director, Rongli Sub-division, attended the visit. At the block level, Mr. H. N. Shenga, Deputy Director, Pakyong BAC, Ms. Shreya Pradhan and Mr. Rohit Sharma, Assistant Directors, and Mr. N. T. Sherpa, Coordinator, Rhenock Block, were present during the visits to the schools under their respective jurisdictions.
During the school visits, the CNO interacted with school heads, teachers, and students and reviewed the academic activities, implementation of PM SHRI components, and infrastructural facilities available in the schools. The visiting team also observed various facilities, including the science laboratories, ICT laboratories, and libraries, and interacted with the concerned teachers regarding the use of available resources in the teaching-learning process.
Addressing the students, the CNO encouraged them to pursue not only academic excellence but also holistic development through active participation in sports, cultural activities, innovation, and other co-curricular engagements. The teachers were also motivated to continue adopting innovative and student-centric teaching practices to improve learning outcomes.
The CNO also reviewed the progress of activities being carried out under the PM SHRI Scheme, including academic initiatives and other co-curricular activities implemented in the schools.
During the visit, the team also held a meeting with the District Collectorate, Pakyong, to discuss the implementation and progress of the PM SHRI Scheme in the district. The visit provided an opportunity to review the ongoing implementation of the scheme and to interact with the school community regarding the various initiatives being carried out under PM SHRI Schools.
The Chief Education Officer, Pakyong, Shri Narayan Mishra, also extended his sincere thanks to all the officials from the Head Office, District, Sub-division and Block levels for their participation and support during the visit.
