Zilla Member,Mangmoo-Begha TC(Dentam) inaugurates One-Week Advanced Geriatric Caregiver - Health Monitoring & Home Care Technology Workshop
Gyalshing,March 9:In a significant step towards enhancing elderly care and rural healthcare infrastructure, the One-Week Advanced Geriatric Caregiver - Health Monitoring & Home Care Technology Workshop officially commenced today at the Government Livelihood School, Dentam. This specialised programme is dedicated to the professional advancement of past trainees of the Geriatric Caregiver (Bedside Assistant) course under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) 2023-2024.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Dinesh Gurung, Zilla Member, Mangmoo-Begha Territorial Constituency, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Dr Rojina Basnett, Medical Officer-in-Charge (MOIC) of Dentam.
The workshop is designed to equip local caregivers with high-tech health monitoring skills, ensuring that senior citizens in Sikkim receive professional-grade medical assistance within the comfort of their own homes.
The event is organised by the State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB) under the Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim and sponsored by Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim , under Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
