The Cooperation Department, Government of Sikkim, launched a Cooperative Farming initiative in Kamarey Village, Rhenock Constituency, Pakyong District. This project, in collaboration with Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Rural Development Departments, aims to revive barren land for cultivation, embracing the 'Connect to Earth' principle of Panchamahabhuta.
The initiative focuses on promoting socio-economic development, engaging local human resources, and enhancing Sikkim's Primary Gross Domestic Product. Ms. Bindhya Biswakarma, Chairperson, Cooperation Department, Government of Sikkim, attended as Chief Guest, highlighting the government's commitment to cooperative farming. Shri C.P. Bhattarai, Hon'ble Panchayat, Kamarey Village, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
Resource persons Shri Robin Pd Sewa, Additional Registrar, and Shri Indramani Adhikari, Joint Registrar, Cooperation Department, led the program, sharing insights on cooperative farming's benefits. The initiative is expected to create a positive impact on the community and environment.
