Two-Day Mindfulness and Meditation Refresher Training for Teachers
Pakyong, March 8: A two-day Mindfulness and Meditation Refresher Training for teachers of Pakyong District was successfully conducted at RBGGSS Tarpin Hall on Friday and Saturday under the initiative of Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, Government of Sikkim.
The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ understanding and practice of mindfulness and meditation to help them cultivate emotional balance and mental clarity, and create a positive learning environment in their classrooms.
The valedictory function was graced by Mr. Bhakti Prasad Sharma, Joint Director, Education Department, Pakyong District, as the Chief Guest. The programme was also attended by Shri Jeewan Kumar Rai, Deputy Director, Rhenock Block; Mr. Rohit Sharma, Assistant Director (HQ); Shri Laxman Adhikari, Assistant Director Samagra Shiksha, Rhenock; Shri Rohit Sharma and Shri Kamal Pradhan, Coordinators; Master Trainers; and teacher participants from various schools of Pakyong District.
During the two-day training, the Master Trainers conducted interactive sessions and practical exercises on mindfulness and meditation, focusing on stress management, emotional well-being, and techniques to enhance concentration and awareness among teachers.
The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the Master Trainers — Mrs. Saraswati Pradhan, Mrs. Jamuna Rai, Mrs. Lata Sharma, and Mr. Hing Mon Subba — for their dedication and valuable contribution in successfully conducting the training.
The programme was conducted by Shri N. T. Sherpa, Block Coordinator, Rhenock BAC, who also extended his gratitude to all dignitaries, trainers, and participants for their cooperation in making the programme successful.
The training programme was well received by the participants and is expected to contribute towards fostering mindful, balanced, and supportive learning environments in schools.
