Gyalshing,March 4, 2026:The visit of Mr Renjing Jamtsho, former Member of Parliament, Bhutan, added grandeur to the prestigious Bumchu Festival held at Tashiding Monastery, Sikkim, on March 3. The 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Yuksam, warmly welcomed him.
During his visit, Mr Jamtsho held strategic and cultural discussions with Shri Narayan Ram Khadab, Second-in-Command, 72nd Bn, SSB, focusing on border peace, security, and strengthening India-Bhutan cultural ties. He lauded the SSB personnel's dedication and professionalism.
Mr Jamtsho also met Mr Samdup Lepcha, Hon'ble Minister of Social Welfare,Women and Child Development,and Printing & Stationery Departments ,Government of Sikkim, discussing Himalayan Culture, Social Welfare, and Tourism collaboration. The meeting symbolised coordination and respect between the two nations.
The interactions showcased how spirituality, security, and politics can complement each other, promoting regional peace and harmony. The event highlighted the 72nd Bn SSB's proactive approach and the Sikkim Government's hospitality.
