Namchi, 4 March : An awareness campaign through miking on Avian Influenza (H5N1) – Bird Flu was successfully conducted at Ravangla Bazaar and surrounding areas including Alley and Rayoung village on 2nd and 3rd March 2026.
Rabongla was one of the areas affected by bird flu in the year 2009, when it was declared a containment zone. Keeping this in view, the campaign was conducted to sensitise the public on preventive measures.
The team was led by Dr. Deven Manger, Deputy Director, Rabong, along with the staff of the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department, Rabong.
During the campaign, people were advised to maintain proper biosecurity, hygiene, safe disposal of poultry waste and to immediately report any unusual bird deaths to the concerned department.
