Commendation Certificates Presented to SSB Personnel at Pakyong.
Pakyong, March 1: A Citation Distribution Ceremony was organised at the 69th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Pakyong, Sikkim, today, during which commendation certificates awarded by the Chief Minister of Sikkim were formally conferred upon battalion personnel.
Representing the Chief Minister, Mr Urgen Lepcha, Confidential Assistant to the Chief Minister, attended the programme and presented the certificates. A total of 25 personnel were honoured for their efforts in constructing stairways to improve tourist access to the natural waterfall “Indrani” at Kaizley Pithang village under Amba Panchayat. The work was carried out despite difficult terrain and geographical challenges.
Commandant Mr Chiranjeeb Bhattacharjee also received the Chief Minister’s Commendation Certificate in recognition of his leadership in implementing social and community welfare initiatives at the local level.
The event was attended by Ms Kabita Sapkota, Chairperson, SCB; Mr DB Chettri, OSD to the Hon’ble Chief Minister; Dr Subhadra Dahal, District Panchayat, Amba Taza; Mr Vinod Subba, President, Rhenock Tourism Development Committee, Pakyong; Mr Bhesh Raj Adhikari, General Secretary, Rhenock Tourism Development Committee, Amba Panchayat; Mr Ongdup Yongjon, Youth Coordinator, Pakyong District, along with members of nearby Panchayats and representatives from the local media.
