72nd Bn SSB Yuksum Concludes Two-Day Training Workshop on ‘Beekeeping and Vermicompost’
Gyalshing, February 27, 2026:The two-day training and kit distribution workshop on ‘Beekeeping and Vermicompost’, organised under the guidance of Shri Narayan Ram Khadaw, Second-in-Command, 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Yuksam, and led by Shri Meghnath Routh, Deputy Commandant, successfully concluded at Nambu- Sindrabung Gram Prasashan Kendra(GPK) on February 26.
The workshop was held under the jurisdiction of the ‘Nambu Company’ of the Battalion, where 15 local participants eagerly took part to learn self-employment skills.
The closing ceremony was graced by Mr Ds Limboo,Zilla Adhakshya Gyalshing district as the Chief Guest. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to all trainees on the successful completion of the programme and wished them a bright future.
In his brief address, he stated that-
"Such skill development programmes not only pave the way for individual progress but also make society economically strong and self-reliant"
During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to the beneficiaries. Additionally, essential training kits related to beekeeping and vermicompost were provided to the participants to enable them to start their self-employment ventures without any delay.
The training workshop was conducted by Dr Sangay Palmo Bhutia, Assistant Professor at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), along with her expert team. The experts provided detailed information on effective methods for increasing income through modern agricultural techniques.
Objective of the Initiative:
The primary goal of this initiative is to connect border-area villagers with new self-employment opportunities, make them self-reliant, and introduce them to modern means of income generation. Through such public welfare programmes, the 72nd Battalion SSB continues its efforts toward regional development and rural empowerment to ensure prosperity and self-sufficiency in border regions.
