72nd Bn SSB Yuksam Inaugurates Two-Day Beekeeping and Organic Fertiliser Training Workshop for Rural Empowerment.
Gyalshing, February 25:In a significant stride toward regional development and rural empowerment, the 72nd Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Yuksam, officially inaugurated a two-day "Beekeeping and Organic Fertilizer Production Training-cum-Kit Distribution Workshop"at the premises of Nambu Gram Panchayat Unit(GPU), today.
Inauguration and Leadership:
The programme formally commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Shri Narayan Ram Khadaw, Second-in-Command, 72nd Battalion. The workshop is being organised under the jurisdiction of the Nambu Company of the Battalion, specifically catering to 15 local participants from the border areas.
Expert Guidance:
The technical sessions are being conducted by Dr Almu Fempu Lassungpa, Assistant Professor at the Centre for Agricultural Science and Research, along with his specialised team.
Objectives of the Workshop:
The primary goal of this initiative is to connect border-area residents with new self-employment opportunities. Through this workshop, participants are receiving training in:
Modern Beekeeping Techniques: Scientific methods for honey production.
Organic Fertiliser Production: Sustainable and scientific ways to create bio-fertilisers.
Economic Self-Reliance: Strategies for income generation and achieving financial independence.
SSB’s Commitment to Community Welfare:
During the inaugural address, Shri Narayan Ram Khadaw emphasised that Sashastra Seema Bal is not only dedicated to the security of the borders but is also deeply committed to the upliftment of local communities through various Civic Action Programmes. He noted that such technical training empowers villagers with essential skills, leading to their long-term economic stability.
Future Support:
Upon completion of the two-day workshop, essential kits will be distributed to all participants. These kits are intended to provide the necessary tools for the participants to immediately begin utilising their newly acquired skills for commercial and personal growth.
