ASHA Sensitisation Programme on Avian Influenza (H5N1)

Venue: Soreng PHC Meeting Hall
Today, on the 24th of February 2026, a Sensitisation Programme on Avian Influenza (H5N1) for ASHAs under Soreng District was conducted by the IEC Cell Soreng PHC. Mr. Awiral Subba, Registered Health Educator, covered detailed information on:
• Avian Influenza and it's Mode of Transmission
• Signs and Symptoms in Humans as well as in Birds
• Its causes, diagnosis and tests
• Management and Treatment
• Preventive Measures
CMO Soreng District, Dr. Smriti Rai also appreciated the work of ASHAs which they have been doing and also motivated all the ASHAs so that they continue put their efforts on community awareness.
The programme was participatory and productive.
