05 days Inter-State Youth Exchange Program of MY Bharat Sikkim Concludes with Diversity and Cultural Celebration at Heartfulness Institute
The Inter-State Youth Exchange Program organised by MY Bharat, Gangtok Sikkim under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India, for the Tripura Youth Contingent from 19th–23rd February 2026 concluded here at Heartfulness Centre, Tadong with a vibrant closing ceremony celebrating cultural diversity and sharing youth perspectives through presentations by youth participants on important domains of development.
Over the last 05 days, youths from the state of State Tripura participated in exposure visits to historical places, International border, meditation workshop, cultural tours, interactive sessions, and community engagement activities. The program aimed to promote mutual understanding and strengthen youth dialogues, and provide participants with firsthand cross-cultural experiences.
During the program, Chief Secretary R Telang sir also addressed the youths on self awareness and encouraged them to practice meditation for a purposeful life. While addressing youths, Deputy Director MY Bharat Sikkim Mangal Jakhar highlighted the importance of such initiatives in equipping youths with cultural awareness, sensitivity and knowledge enhancement and described the exchange as a “life-changing experience” that broadened the youth perspectives on various issues. In addition to the performances, students delivered group presentations summarizing their experiences throughout the exchange program.
Throughout the exchange, youths explored local traditions, shared their own cultural heritage, and collaborated on learning from each other. Activities included Nathu La Pass visits, ITBP camp visit and weapon exhibitions, cultural exhibitions, group presentations, and social events designed to foster teamwork and mutual respect.
In the closing ceremony, Padmashree Draupadi Ghimire, Dr RB Biswakarma, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, Manas Pratik Sarma, Assistant Director and incharge, PIB Gangtok addressed the youths emphasizing on the importance of mutual understanding of culture, languages and best practices of each state. Participants reflected on their experiences, expressing gratitude to the host state and organizers who made the program possible. During the program, cultural performances symbolizing rich heritage and traditions of Tripura and Sikkim were performed by participants. At the program, souvenirs and certificates of participation were awarded to all the participants.
Vote of thanks and closing remark was proposed by Arjun Pradhan, expressing to carry forward the good memories and lifelong learnings when they return to their states. MY Bharat volunteers Sidharth, Diwas, Hima, Deepak and Deepa were present during the closing program.
