72nd Bn SSB Yuksam Organises two-day training workshop on Mushroom Cultivation and Pickle-Making Techniques
Gyalshing,Febeuary 23:A two-day training workshop on Mushroom Cultivation and Pickle-Making Techniques commenced at Jeevant Gaon, Karmatar,today.
The programme started with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri Narayan Ram Khadaw, Second-in-Command of the 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, Yuksam (Sikkim).
The workshop has been organised at Jeevant Gaon, Karmatar, within the operational jurisdiction of the battalion, for 15 local participants. The training is being conducted by Dr Almu Fempu Lassungpa, Assistant Professor from the Agricultural Science and Research Centre, along with his team.
The primary objective of this programme is to create self-employment opportunities for local villagers, promote self-reliance, and provide effective means of income generation.
During the training, participants will receive hands-on and scientific knowledge of modern mushroom production techniques, as well as practical and commercial training in pickle-making. The initiative aims to enable participants to establish small-scale enterprises and become economically empowered.
The 72nd Battalion SSB, Yuksam, continues to undertake such welfare-oriented initiatives to promote regional development, social participation, and rural empowerment. The battalion remains committed to working in close coordination with local communities to support their journey towards self-reliance.
