"DTFI Committee Meeting Regarding HPV Vaccination, National Deworming Programme, and National TB Elimination Programme"
Pakyong, February 23: The District Task Force on Immunisation (DTFI) committee meeting was successfully conducted on 23 February 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Collector, Pakyong District. The meeting was organised to review, discuss, and strengthen the implementation of various national health programmes, with a particular focus on immunisation and disease prevention initiatives within the district.
The meeting was chaired by Mr R. Ramesh Agwane, IAS, District Collector, Pakyong District. Also in Presence were Dr. Madan Mani Dhakal, MD, Chief Medical Officer (Health & Family Welfare), Pakyong District, Mr Gyanendra Karki, Deputy Director SIECB, Dr Sandhya Rai, DTO and the Officials from various departments, including the Education Department, Social Welfare Department, and Health & Family Welfare Department. Their presence reflected the importance of interdepartmental coordination in ensuring the successful implementation of public health programmes.
The key agenda of the meeting included discussions on the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination Campaign for adolescent girls, which aims to prevent cervical cancer and promote long-term health among young females. The committee also reviewed preparations for the upcoming National Deworming Day Programme, scheduled to be conducted on 9 March 2026, with a mop-up round planned for 16 March 2026. The importance of ensuring maximum coverage, proper coordination with schools, and timely reporting was emphasised to achieve the programme objectives.
In addition, the meeting included discussions on the National TB Elimination Programme, focusing on strengthening surveillance, early detection, treatment adherence, and community awareness to achieve the goal of tuberculosis elimination. The chairperson highlighted the need for continued collaboration among departments and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of all ongoing health initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the district’s commitment to improving public health outcomes through coordinated efforts, effective planning, and timely execution of national health programmes. All concerned departments were encouraged to continue their support and cooperation to ensure the success of these important initiatives.
