Gangtok, 23rd February 2026: A preparatory meeting for the upcoming Sikkim Arts and Literature Festival (SALF), scheduled to be held from 26th to 28th April 2026, was convened today by the Students’ Welfare Board under the Education Department, Government of Sikkim.
The festival is being organised in collaboration with Teamwork Arts Pvt. Ltd., the producers and founders of the globally acclaimed Jaipur Literature Festival.
The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble MLA Shri Aditya Golay and attended by Shri C. S. Rao, Additional Chief Secretary; Ms. Yeshey Yongda, Secretary, Excise Department; Mrs. Hondala Gyaltsen, Secretary, Tourism; Shri Tushar G. Nikhare, DC Gangtok; Shri Sisum Wangchuk Bhutia, ADC Gangtok; Shri Rimp Dorjee Lepcha, Chief Engineer, Culture Department; Shri Sanjay Dilpali Rai, Chairperson, Art and Culture Board; Shri Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, APS to HCM; Mrs. Bhim Kumari Sharma, Chairperson, Culture Department; Shri Rewaj Chettri, OSD to HCM; Shri Sonam Chopel Sherpa, Chairperson, Students’ Welfare Board; along with members of the Students’ Welfare Board.
This marked the first coordination meeting with the organising team, focusing on preliminary planning, collaborative strategies, and the broader vision of positioning SALF as a significant cultural and literary platform for the youth of Sikkim. Discussions emphasised inclusivity, active student engagement, and the promotion of local art, literature, and intellectual discourse.
