Namchi, 23 February : The Two-Day Teachers Training Programme under Sarathi 1.0 (Supported by Titan Company Limited ) was successfully conducted on 21st & 22nd February 2026 at the ADC Conference Hall, Namchi District for 34 teachers from 17 Senior Secondary and Secondary Schools.
The programme aimed to strengthen teachers’ capacity in addiction prevention and promote students’ mental well-being. This initiative aligns with the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) to build an addiction-free and mentally healthy society, under the guidance of Shri Rohit Raj Maharaj, Advisor to HCM and Chief Resource Person of Sarathi 1.0.
Day 1 featured interactive sessions led by Mr. Bishal Sharma, emphasizing the vital role of teachers in early intervention and mental health promotion, along with an address by the Chief Guest (Shri Rohit Raj Maharaj, Advisor to HCM and Chief Resource Person of Sarathi 1.0), highlighting collective responsibility in tackling youth addiction.
Day 2 included sessions on addiction awareness by Ms. Anzila Y, a Heartfulness session by Ms. Tshering Choki Bhutia, and a detailed presentation on Sarathi 1.0’s vision and implementation strategies by Mr. Bishal Sharma. Counsellors Mr. Sailandra Chettri and Mr. Pem Norbu Bhutia addressed key concerns related to addiction and mental health. The programme concluded with certificate distribution and a vote of thanks, marking the training as informative, engaging, and impactful in fostering addiction-free and mentally healthy school communities.
