NABARD to Organise State Credit Seminar 2026-27 in Sikkim; State Focus Paper to be Released.
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Sikkim Regional Office, will organise the State Credit Seminar 2026-27 on 23 February 2026 at Hotel Ramada, Gangtok, from 10:00 AM onwards.
Shri Ravindra Telang, Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurate the Seminar.
The Seminar will witness the release of the State Focus Paper (SFP) 2026-27, an annual document prepared by NABARD assessing district-wise and sector-wise credit potential in Sikkim. The SFP serves as a guiding document for banks and Government departments in formulating the Annual Credit Plan under the Lead Bank Scheme.
The State Focus Paper outlines the potential for enhanced credit flow to priority sectors, including Agriculture and Allied Activities, MSMEs, Export Credit, Education, Housing and Other Priority Sectors. It aims to strengthen coordinated efforts among banks, State Government departments and development agencies to promote inclusive and sustainable growth.
The Seminar will provide a platform for deliberations on improving credit delivery, promoting rural entrepreneurship, supporting farmer collectives and SHGs, enhancing MSME financing and advancing climate-resilient and sustainable development initiatives in the State.
Senior officials from the Government of Sikkim, banking institutions and development agencies are expected to participate in the programme.
NABARD continues to play a pivotal role in facilitating credit planning and supporting rural development initiatives in the State.
