72nd Battalion SSB Yuksam and DDMA Gyalshing Organises School Safety and Community Awareness Programmes in Gyalshing District.
Gyalshing,February 21: In a significant move towards disaster preparedness, the 72nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Yuksam, in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA)gyalshing, successfully organised a 'School Safety Programme' (SSP) and 'Community Awareness Programme' (CAP) at Yuksam Sr Sec School today.
The initiatives were conducted under the expert guidance of Shri Narayan Ram Khadaw (Second-in-Command, 72nd Bn) and led by Sub-Inspector Dinesh Chand.
Key Highlights of the Event:
Widespread Participation: A total of 150 participants, including 20 teachers, 120 students, and several local villagers, attended the training. Members and students from Government Senior Secondary School Yuksam,Ting Ting PS,Good Shepherd Nursery School and Life Vision Academy participated with great enthusiasm.
Life-Saving Demonstrations: SSB personnel provided live demonstrations of Life Saving Techniques (LST), focusing on practical skills required during natural calamities and emergencies.
Objective: The primary goal of this joint initiative was to sensitise the community and educational institutions about disaster management, emphasising the importance of maintaining patience and using precise techniques during a crisis.
This collaborative effort reflects the ongoing commitment of the SSB and DDMA to build a resilient and well-informed community in the sensitive terrain of Gyalahing District.
