RRC Yuksam Conducts Volunteer Waste Segregation Drive.
Gyalshing, February 21:A Volunteer Waste Segregation Drive was conducted today at the Resource Recovery Centre (RRC), Yuksam.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Shri T Tashi Bhutia, In-charge, RRC Yuksam. The drive witnessed the participation of the Block Development Officer(BDO), Shri Sanman Limboo, along with officials and staff of the Sub-Divisional Office (SDO) Yuksam and KNP Division, Yuksam.
The primary objective of the initiative was to promote sustainable waste disposal practices and reduce environmental impact through systematic segregation of waste at source.
Addressing the gathering, Shri T Tashi Bhutia quoted, “We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly, we need millions of people doing it imperfectly,” emphasising the importance of collective responsibility in achieving environmental sustainability. He highlighted the significance of effective waste management and proper segregation practices and appealed to community members and local bodies to voluntarily come forward and actively engage in such drives to make Yuksam a clean and zero-waste village.
The drive successfully demonstrated efficient waste management practices using modern methods, thereby enhancing recycling rates and reducing landfill waste.
The programme clearly showed the shared resolve of the officials and community members to work together towards environmental sustainability and to maintain cleanliness and ecological balance in the region.
