Namchi, 21 February : Temi BAC conducted mass cleanliness drives and public awareness campaigns on proper waste management over the past two days. The initiative aimed to promote sanitation, environmental responsibility, and community participation across Temi Block.
In addition to the BAC,GPKs,local clubs and committees actively participated in the drives, demonstrating strong collective commitment. The cleanliness campaign covered the entire stretch of the block, right from Dhamthang to Aadharsgaon, ensuring a thorough and comprehensive clean-up of roads, streets, public spaces, and sanitary complexes. Notably, a full truckload of waste was collected on the first day of the drive alone.
On the second day, bazar inspections and awareness sensitisation activities were carried out. Members of the bazar community, along with local residents—including house owners and tenants—were directed to maintain proper sanitation and ensure regular upkeep of their respective areas.
The initiative reflects the continued efforts of the Temi BAC and the community towards maintaining cleanliness, improving public hygiene, and fostering responsible waste management practices.
