Horticulture Department, Gyalshing, Organises Training-Cum-Distribution of quality ginger seeds/Rhizomes at Thingling.
Gyalshing,February 17:Training-cum- distribution of quality ginger seeds/Rhizomes was organised today at Thingling under Yuksam Tashiding Constituency by the Horticulture Department, Gyalshing District, in the presence of Panchayat Vice President Mr Kumar Basnett Thingling GPU, along with Deputy Director Horticulture, Yuksam Shri Rinzing Wangyal Bhutia, field staff and farmers.
Hands-on training as well as packages and practices of Ginger Cultivation were taught to the farmers. Organic bio inputs like Pseudomonas, Copper OxyChloride and vermi-compost was also given to the farmers.
Deputy Director of Horticulture instructed the farmers to sow the seeds as per the training given to them and further informed that follow-up action will be done by field staff on a regular basis to boost the yields and economy of the farmers.
Panchayat Vice President Mr Basnett thanked the Govt of Sikkim and the Horticulture Department for the timely supply of quality seeds and inputs to the farmers.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to all the participants by the GPU Incharge of the Horticulture Department, Thingling GPU.
