Today, the delegation of 12 journalists of Chhattisgarh paid a courtesy visit to Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, Sikkim, in coordination with the Letter Information Office (PIB) Raipur. This group is on a seven-day study stay in Sikkim from 15 to 21 February. The migration aims to direct overview of ambitious projects, infrastructure development and strategic importance development work run by the central government.
Hon'ble Governor on this occasion appreciated its many initiatives by telling Sikkim a clean and environment conscious state. The works being done in the field of continuous tourism were also discussed.
The Hon'ble Governor informed the delegation about the importance of Sikkim's historical battlefield sites, Chola and Dokala Darre and encouraged to visit these places to understand and expand the history here.
Journalists questioned the Governor regarding road and air contact, the market of organic products and the tourism framework. On this, the Governor has assured that the central and state governments are working together to strengthen these areas.
The delegation includes 10 senior journalists, an officer and an employee of major media institutions of Chhattisgarh. In addition to this Mr. Manas Pratim Sharma, Assistant Director from Sikkim PIB, was also present. Leadership of the party by Assistant Director Mr. Sudipta Kar and Mr. Purushottam Jha.
During this time, the media team also visited the old Lokbhavan and know how this building witnessed the journey of Indian democracy from the pre-Independence British political office to Rajbhavan and now Lokbhavan.
According to the program, the team will review major central-sponsored projects, including a site visit to Sikkim’s first rail link project Sevok-Rangpo Railway Line. In addition to this strategically important Nathu La Darra, Baba Temple and Changu Lake will be visited. The team will also visit Vibrant Village Initiative, Pelling Skywalk and Indian Botanical Survey Centers.
The Hon'ble Governor expressed confidence that this type of interstate media dialogue will strengthen national unity, broaden information on development works and renewed energy to the country's progress.
