CHUMBONG BLOCK CONCLUDES TWO-DAY SPECIAL GRAM SABHAS TO DRIVE ‘SAMPOORNATA ABHIYAN 2.0’ OBJECTIVES
CHUMBONG, February 12, 2026: In a concerted effort to accelerate development at the grassroots, Chumbong Block successfully concluded a two-day series of Special Gram Sabhas on February 11th and 12th 2026. The meetings, held across four Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs): Mendogaon Borbotey, Chakung, Chota Samdong Arubotey, and Chumbong GPU, focused on the strategic implementation and saturation of KPIs of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 under the Aspirational Block Programme.
The primary objective of these sessions was the formal adoption of resolutions to achieve 100% saturation in six targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relating to Health, Nutrition, Education, and Livestock.
The Special Gram Sabhas were chaired by the respective Panchayat Presidents and attended by Panchayat members and community residents. The block administrative team participated throughout the two-day period, including Block Development Officer (BDO) Chumbong Shri Ram Kumar Gurung, CDPO Soreng Smt. Gauri Tamang, Aspirational Block Fellow Mr. Aditya Raj Sharma, Mr. Dev Nepal from the Piramal Foundation, and various other block-level officials and frontline workers.
During the meetings, Shri Ram Kumar Gurung underscored the importance of community participation in ensuring that government benefits reach every household. The technical discussions centred on the six specific KPIs of Sampoornata Abhiyan, with officials providing clarity on the roadmap for saturation.
To provide health services alongside the Gram Sabha, the block administration organised integrated health camps at each GPU location. Residents benefited from specialised NCD (Non-Communicable Diseases) Screening and TB Screening Camps, which were held concurrently with the Gram Sabhas. These camps facilitated early detection and provided essential health consultations, reinforcing the campaign’s commitment to public wellness.
