RBI Gangtok flags off Financial Literacy Van in Gangtok district.
As part of Financial Literacy Week (FLW) 2026, the Reserve Bank of India, Gangtok, flagged off a Financial Literacy (FL) Van in Gangtok district on February 10, 2026. The programme was held at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Gangtok, from where the Financial Literacy Van was flagged-off by Shri Tushar G Nikhare, District Collector, Gangtok district. The programme was facilitated by officials from the RBI, Gangtok.
The FL Van will travel through remote parts of the district, broadcasting financial literacy and cyber fraud awareness messages through loudspeakers. The van will also distribute informational leaflets to enhance financial awareness among the public.
During the flag-off event, Miss Aditi Haldar briefed the participants about the objectives and significance of Financial Literacy Week 2026 and this year’s theme, viz., ‘KYC-Your first step to safe banking’. Shri Tushar Nikhare appreciated the initiative undertaken by RBI Gangtok to promote financial awareness and strengthen cyber fraud prevention at the grassroots level.
RBI Gangtok continues to undertake sustained efforts to promote financial literacy and empower citizens to make informed financial decisions, while also enhancing awareness about digital payment safety and protection against financial fraud.
