Inspector General Shri Vandan Saxena visits 72nd Battalion SSB Yuksam(Nambu Coy);assures resolution of villagers' grievances.
Gyalshing,February 11:Shri Vandan Saxena, Inspector General (IG), Frontier Headquarters, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Siliguri, visited the Nambu Company of the 72nd Battalion, SSB Yuksam, today. The visit primarily aimed at reviewing the security architecture of the border areas and strengthening the bond of coordination with local citizens.
During the visit, the Inspector General engaged in a heart-to-heart interaction with the residents of Nambu village.
The meeting was attended by Shri Manish Kumar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Sector Headquarters, and Shri Jai Prakash, Commandant, 72nd Battalion, along with other senior officers of the unit.
The local community was represented by prominent figures, including Shri LP Lama (Ex-O/C Police), Shri Passang Bhutia, Panchayat Member, and Shri Depan Hang Limboo, along with several other villagers and farmers.
The dialogue centred on the holistic development and security of the border regions. The Inspector General listened to the concerns of the villagers with great empathy and attention. Addressing the gathering, he assured the following:
Commitment to Support: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) remains dedicated to providing every possible assistance to the villagers within its organizational capacity.
Administrative Coordination: Regarding issues related to village development and employment that require civil administration’s intervention, the IG personally committed to conducting high-level meetings with the local administration to ensure these concerns are addressed.
Prioritized Action: All requests and suggestions put forward by the villagers will be treated with the utmost priority.
The local residents lauded the sensitive and proactive approach of the Inspector General, reaffirming their deep-rooted trust and cooperation with the Sashastra Seema Bal.
