All Government Schools under Soreng District (98 schools) reopened today, 4th February 2026, after the winter break with renewed enthusiasm and high expectations for a successful academic session.
On the day of reopening, the Chief Education Officer, Shri Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia, visited schools under Soreng BAC. Simultaneously, other district officials, along with officers from the six respective Blocks, conducted visits to schools across the district to carry out comprehensive inspections. These inspections focused on overall school preparedness, attendance of students, teachers, and staff, and the availability of essential academic and infrastructural resources.
It was observed that all students up to Class VIII were provided with textbooks, exercise copies, uniforms, shoes, school bags, and other required materials on the very first day of reopening. This reflects effective planning and the timely implementation of government initiatives. Attendance registers were also thoroughly reviewed to ensure regularity and readiness among both students and staff.
The smooth reopening of schools highlights the District Administration’s strong commitment to quality education and adequate facilities, in alignment with the policies of the State Government, thereby ensuring a conducive and supportive learning environment for the academic year 2026.
Schools across the district are fully prepared for a productive academic session, with a continued focus on academic excellence alongside co-curricular and holistic development of students.
The District Education Office, Soreng, sincerely appreciates the collective efforts of school heads, teachers, non-teaching staff, parents, and students in ensuring a positive, smooth, and well-organised beginning of the new academic session.
