Awareness and Distribution Programme on Micro-Irrigation Systems Held at Denchung PMKSY Cluster.
Namchi 29 January : The Agriculture Department, Namchi, organised an Awareness-cum-Distribution Programme on Micro-Irrigation (MI) Systems under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana – Per Drop More Crop (PMKSY-PDMC) at the Denchung PMKSY Cluster, Namchi District, for the year 2025–2026.
The programme was graced by Shri Phurden Lepcha, OSD to the Hon’ble Minister, as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by all the Hon’ble Panchayat members of Denchung GPU and Salghari GPU, Shri Galpo Lepcha, CLC President of Poklok Kamrang Constituency, Shri Nagandr Tamang, CLC Youth Convenor, Poklok Kamrang, along with Mr Arbin Majhi, Agriculture Development Officer (ADO), Jorethang Block, and other officials and staff of the concerned Agriculture Block.
During the programme, 1,000-litre poly tanks were distributed to 181 beneficiaries, aimed at promoting efficient water management practices and enhancing agricultural productivity through micro-irrigation techniques.
The programme highlighted the importance of water conservation and the adoption of modern irrigation systems to ensure sustainable agricultural development in the district.
