The Hon’ble Minister, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim, Shri TT Bhutia attended Wings India, Asia’s largest civil aviation exhibition and conference on 28th January 2026, held at Begumpet Airport Hyderabad. The biennial event serves as a global platform bringing together policymakers, aviation regulators, airlines, aircraft manufacturers, airport operators, investors, startups and international delegations to deliberate on the future of civil aviation.
During the event, the Hon’ble Minister participated in high-level policy dialogues, interactive sessions, and B2B/B2G meetings focusing on regional air connectivity, sustainable aviation, airport development, Heli-services, advanced air mobility and aviation-led tourism growth. The Hon’ble Minister also visited static and flying aircraft displays, aviation technology exhibitions, and engaged with industry leaders showcasing innovations in green aviation, digital air navigation, training, MRO services and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The Hon’ble Minister held discussions with key stakeholders from airlines, airport developers and aviation service providers, exploring opportunities to enhance last-mile air connectivity, strengthen heliport and helicopter services, and improve accessibility to remote and hilly regions such as Sikkim. These engagements align with the state’s efforts to integrate civil aviation with tourism development and regional economic growth.
While addressing interactions at the event, the Hon’ble Minister underscored the visionary leadership and progressive outlook of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri. Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), whose clear vision emphasizes responsible expansion of civil aviation infrastructure, improved regional connectivity, and sustainable development. The Hon’ble Chief Minister’s vision seeks to position Sikkim as a well-connected, eco-sensitive and premium tourism destination, ensuring balanced growth while preserving the state’s fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
The event also featured CEO roundtables, investor sessions, startup showcases and international cooperation meetings, offering valuable insights into emerging trends, policy reforms and investment opportunities in the aviation sector. Participation in such forums enables Sikkim to stay aligned with national initiatives such as UDAN, heli-connectivity programs, and evolving civil aviation policies.
The Government of Sikkim remains committed to working closely with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, and industry stakeholders to leverage civil aviation as a key enabler for tourism promotion, economic development and enhanced connectivity across the state.
