Gyalshing,December 9:On 08 December 2025, under the able and inspiring leadership of Shri Jai Prakash, Commandant, 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, the grand inauguration of the Inter-Battalion Cricket Tournament was held at the 03 Maneybong–Dentam Constituency Ground (GPU Dentam), the designated venue for the event under the premises of the 72nd Battalion, SSB, Yuksom (Sikkim). Under his guidance, the venue witnessed an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and exemplary sportsmanship.
Three teams—the 36th Battalion, the 69th Battalion, and the 72nd Battalion—participated in this tournament. In the competitive series of three matches, the 69th Battalion secured victory in one match, while the 72nd Battalion also registered a remarkable win with an excellent performance.
After securing one victory each, both the 72nd Battalion and the 69th Battalion qualified for the final match. The enthusiasm, discipline, and high sporting skills displayed by the players of the 72nd Battalion brought new heights to the entire event and played a significant role in making the tournament successful and memorable.
