Paragliding team completes successful test flight in Jorethang and invites public to experience adventure at Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026
An experienced paragliding team conducted a successful test flight on December 06 in Jorethang, demonstrating a smooth takeoff and a safe landing at the designated site. The activity marks an important step toward introducing adventure sports during the upcoming Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026.
The visiting team comprised Mr Arjun Kr Rai Paragliding Instructor and General Secretary of the Sikkim Paragliding Association Ms Kung Young Kark Paragliding World Cup Judge and Pilot from South Korea, Mr Fabian Lamm Paragliding Instructor from Germany and Mr Sonam Ladhaki Paragliding Instructor from Ladakh.
The team expressed that Jorethang offers one of the safest landing zones in Sikkim for paragliding activities. They also encouraged adventure enthusiasts and the general public to join them during the Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026 and experience the excitement of flying over the scenic landscape.
With the successful test flight and positive feedback from the experts, the upcoming Mela is expected to include a memorable paragliding experience for visitors and participants.
