Rajbhavan: Sikkim

President of Sikkim Football Association Mr. Menla Athempa and executive members paid courtesy visit to Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur at Rajbhavan today.
On this occasion he informed the Hon'ble Governor about the organization of the upcoming 41st 'All India Governor Gold Cup International Football Tournament' and cordially invited the Hon'ble Governor to the function.
The tournament will start from 16 November 2025 and conclude with the final match on 29 November 2025. A total of 16 named football teams from country and abroad are participating in this year's competition.
Mr. Athempa informed the Hon'ble Governor about the preparations, participating teams and outline of the program.
Hon'ble Governor congratulated the organizing committee that Sikkim is emerging as an inspiration in the field of sports tourism through the Gold Cup.
The Governor has assured cooperation to the organizers wishing for the success of the event.
Gangtok, November 6 (Raj Bhavan):The Sikkim Football Association executive body led by president, Shri Menla Ethenpa called on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan today.
During the meeting, they briefed the Hon’ble Governor about the upcoming 41st All India Governor’s Gold Cup International Football Tournament scheduled to commence from November 16 of this month. They extended an invitation to the Hon’ble Governor to grace the tournament at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok.
President, Shri Ethenpaa briefed the Hon’ble Governor on the preparations for the tournament, the participating teams, and the overall outline. This year, a total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament where the final will be held on 29 November later this month.
The Hon’ble Governor conveyed his best wishes to the organizing committee and successful conduct of the tournament. Further he assured the organizers of his full support from Raj Bhavan.
Hon'ble Governor stated that Sikkim's potential for sports tourism through the Governor’s Gold Cup Sikkim to become a significant destination for sports tourism.
