Namchi, 4 November : An inspection cum monitoring visit was conducted today at the newly established Avocado Cluster in Kolthang Tokdey GPU under Yangang Block, Namchi district, in the esteemed presence of the Honourable Deputy Speaker, Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa.
During the visit, officials highlighted that 64 farmers had been provided with high-quality Hass avocado saplings under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture MIDH–AEP and the Department's Special Programme in July 2025.
This initiative aims to enhance the economic well-being and livelihood opportunities of local farmers through community-driven development. Officials from the Department of Horticulture, along with the Honourable Zilla Panchayat member Shri KD Kaflay and Panchayat Members, jointly inspected the orchard to assess sapling growth and establishment progress.
The Honourable Deputy Speaker emphasized continuous monitoring and stakeholders' responsibility for the project’s success and suggested forming a GPU-level monitoring team.
