Mani Diwali at Bharat Battlefield visit site at 13,400 feet: Honorable Governor celebrated the festival of lamps with soldiers at Dokala Dare
On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, celebrated the festival of lamps with the brave soldiers of Indian Army deployed at the Dokala Darre of 13,400 feet on the India-China border. Meanwhile GOC of Black Cat Division, Major General M.S., Indian Army officers and soldiers including Rathore, were present.
Dokala, which witnesses the historic military encounter of 2017, has recently been opened for tourism by the Ministry of Defence of the India Government as a "Ranbhoomi Darshan". This place symbolizes the courage, dedication and patriotism of the Indian Army. The arrival of the Governor has not only highlighted the morale of soldiers but also honored his dedication to the nation.
During this time, the Governor distributed sweets with the soldiers, interacted with them and echoed the atmosphere with the slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
On the occasion of this festival, the Hon'ble Governor expressed his wish that this year's Diwali would be celebrated with the brave soldiers deployed in the border area. He said our soldiers are standing firm on the borders in the security of the country, away from their homes, so that we can celebrate the festival by lighting the lamps peacefully in our homes. His dedication and sacrifice are the real light of our Diwali.
Hon'ble Governor pleased on Dokala being developed as a tourist destination and urge to visit the destination. He said historical sites like Dokala are not only rich with natural beauty but also covering the inspiring saga of heroes engaged in protecting the nation. This venue will be a living testament of bravery and might for generations to come.
Former Governor Sir celebrated Diwali with soldiers on Serethang Helipad. Echoing with the slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai, got to witness an emotional confluence of dialogue and celebration with soldiers.
Also, on the way Hon'ble Governor distributed sweets to local citizens in Dichu village. This is the place where electricity was recently provided with the direction of the Governor and cooperation of the Indian Army.
In addition, today the Governor visited Nathang GPU under the Vibrant Village Scheme in the border area, where he distributed Diwali sweets with local citizens and exchanged greetings.
