District Industries Centre, Pakyong District.
Pakyong, 18 October : A week-long Udyam registration drive was conducted by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Commerce & Industries Department, Pakyong District, in collaboration with the State Rural Livelihood Mission, Pakyong District.
A total of 110 Udyam registrations were completed during the drive, which took place across multiple locations within the district, namely Yakten, Amba, Taza, East Pendam, Parakha, and Pachey Samsing.
The District Industries Centre, Pakyong, facilitated the drive with the primary objective of informing grassroots entrepreneurs about the importance of Udyam registration, enabling them to access a wide range of government schemes. These include the Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP), Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance Programme (RAMP), Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprise Scheme (PMFME), and various other schemes being implemented in the state that support the growth and formalization of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The registration drive was graced by the presence of Honorable Chairperson of the Commerce & Industries Department, Ms. Nim Chiki Sherpa, General Manager, DIC, Pakyong, Mr. Jigmi Wangdi, Block Project Manager, Pakyong, Mrs. Tashi Ongmu, Block Project Manager, Parakha, Mr. Tshering Choda as well as members of the Block Development Society and Block Resource Persons.
The on-site registration was carried out by Inspectors and staff from the District Industries Centre, along with members of the Ward Development Society, Ward Resource Persons, and Community Resource Persons for Enterprise Promotion.
A similar Udyam Registration drive was previously conducted in the month of May, 2025 where 159 registrations were completed across various locations under the Pakyong district.
The District Industries Centre, Pakyong, continues to encourage local entrepreneurs to register under Udyam to gain access to numerous benefits in establishing and expanding their businesses.
