Namchi, 17 October: Agriculture Department successfully organized a Block Level Programme on “Meri Policy Mere Haath” under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) at Sorok Shaympani GPU under Namchi Block.
The event aimed to create awareness among farmers about the benefits of crop insurance and to distribute PMFBY policy documents to the enrolled beneficiaries.
The programme was graced by Ms.Anupa Tamling, District Collector Namchi district; Dr Latta Rai Additional Director, AH& VS , Dr Nation Chamling Rai, Deputy Director Agriculture; Ms. Nikam Tamang, ADO,Namchi, Mr. Suchan Darjee, Resource Person from Generali Central Insurance Company, Agriculture Inspectors, Departmental officials and farmers from the block.
The event commenced with a welcome address, followed by an informative session by Mr. Suchan Darjee, who briefed the participants on the provisions of the PMFBY scheme, premium structures, and addressed the various farmers’ queries.
Ms . Anupa Tamling, DC Namchi graced the program and interacted with the farmers about their concerns regarding agriculture and encouraged them to participate in all such activities done by the department. She also handed the crop insurance policy to the registered farmers.
Dr Nation Chamling, Deputy Director highlighted the importance of PMFBY led an interactive session wherein he further addressed farmers’ concerns and encouraged the adoption of eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural techniques.
The programme concluded with the distribution of crop insurance policies under PMFBY.
Mr. Vidhya Bhusan Agriculture inspector extended a vote of thanks to all participants for their active engagement.
