Gangtok, October 14: The two days workshop on World of Work -2.0 (WoW) conducted by NCERT, PARAKH, New Delhi, was successfully concluded at PM SHRI Deorali Girls Sr. Secondary School on 14th October, 2025. The programme was conducted by two resource persons from NCERT PARAKH, New Delhi, for the students of PM SHRI School. Around 120 students from 3 PM SHRI Schools participated in the said workshop along with the teacher escorts.
A two-day workshop on World of Work, envisioned by Prof. Indrani Bhaduri, Head and CEO of PARAKH, NCERT, was inaugurated at PM SHRI Deorali Girls SSS on 13th October, 2025. The inaugural function was graced by the Chief Education Officer of Gangtok District, Ms. Chime Denzongpa, as the Chief Guest and had the presence of Joint Director (Planning), Education Department Ms. Lamkila Bhutia, Principal PM SHRI Deorali Girls SSS, Ms. Anita Kaphley, Assistant Director (PM SHRI) Mr. Deoraj Bagdas, teachers and participating students. The World of Work initiative is a landmark step towards realizing the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, especially to promote skill development and vocational education among school students of grades 9 and 10 in PM SHRI schools.
This unique workshop was designed to orient students towards both traditional and non-traditional career paths, including 36 emerging job sectors of the Ministry of Skill Development, the global AI trend, that are gaining prominence in a rapidly evolving global economy. Aligned with the Government of India’s larger vision to "Mend the Skill of India," the program aimed at nurturing informed, agile, and adaptable learners equipped for the jobs of tomorrow.
