World Mental Health Day Observed at ICFAI University, Sichey
Gangtok, October 10, 2025: The 10 Bedded AYUSH Hospital, Sochakgang, in collaboration with ICFAI University, Sichey, observed World Mental Health Day with an awareness programme focusing on mental well-being and holistic health.
The event was organised under the initiative of the Sikkim State AYUSH Society to promote awareness on mental health, coping mechanisms, and the integration of AYUSH systems for overall wellness.
The theme for World Mental Health Day 2025, “Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,” was highlighted during the programme, emphasising the importance of ensuring access to mental health care for all individuals, especially during challenging situations.
The programme was led by Dr. Yamuna Sharma (Medical Officer, Homoeopathy), Dr. M. P. Dash (Medical Officer, Ayurveda), and Mrs. Kiden Lama Tamang (Senior Counsellor, STNM Hospital). They addressed the participants on topics including stress management, emotional balance, and the role of AYUSH systems in maintaining mental well-being.
Students and faculty members of ICFAI University actively participated in the interactive sessions and appreciated the initiative aimed at promoting mental health awareness among youth.
The programme concluded with a collective message encouraging everyone to prioritise mental wellness and adopt healthy lifestyle practices for a balanced mind and body.
