Coordination Meeting for Chief Minister's Mentorship Programme Held in Soreng District on 9th October 2025.
In a significant step towards enhancing educational standards and ensuring to achieve the objectives of the Chief Ministers Mentorship Programme for Class X Students, a coordination meeting was convened on 9th October 2025, at the seminar hall of the Government B.Ed. College, Soreng. The meeting brought together Head of Institutions (HOIs) from 16 Secondary and 14 Senior Secondary Schools under the Soreng District.
Chaired by Additional District Collector (ADC) Shri D.R. Bista, the meeting aimed to assess activities related to the Chief Minister's Mentorship Programme (CMMP) for Class X CBSE board students. The gathering also featured esteemed participants, including Chief Education Officer Shri Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia and Joint Director of the Education Department Shri M.K. Khewa, along with officials from both district and block levels.
Setting the stage for the discussions, Govind Dhakal (AEO) presented a comprehensive overview of the district’s educational profile and the trends in student performance since the establishment of Soreng District. This context underscored the importance of the CMMP, which aims to support students in achieving academic excellence.
Chief Education Officer Shri Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia elaborated on the challenges and needs associated with realizing a target of 100% success in Class X CBSE exams. He emphasized the critical role of mentorship in guiding students through their academic journeys and urged HOIs to cultivate an environment where students feel encouraged to seek assistance. Problems and issues were also brought to the discussion.
ADC Shri D.R. Bista reinforced the theme of collaboration among schools to uplift educational quality. He called upon all HOIs to engage proactively with their staff and students to implement effective strategies that align with the objectives of the CMMP. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to elevating educational standards within the district. He highlighted the necessity for teamwork among educators and the continuous professional development of teachers to better support their students. He also shared various information and activities taken up by the District Administration to support and facilitate the schools to enhance the school infrastructure as well as the quality of education. He assured that the District Administration is keen on supporting Education and bringing better changes.
The meeting served as a platform for sharing best practices and successful initiatives implemented across schools. Participants engaged in fruitful discussions on leveraging technology to enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes.
As the meeting drew to a close, attendees were inspired to take collective action toward achieving the ambitious goal of 100% results in Class X CBSE exams.
