Community Outreach Health Camp under Swasth Nari Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan
Namchi, 25 September: As part of the ongoing Swasth Nari Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan, the Department of AYUSH, District Hospital Namchi, in collaboration with the Health Department, organized a community outreach health camp today at Namthang HWC-PHC.
The camp aimed at promoting women’s health and overall community well-being. The following activities and services were provided:
General health check-ups for patients
Free distribution of homoeopathic medicines
Hemoglobin (Hb) and random blood sugar testing
Screening for hypertension (HTN)
Height, weight, and BMI measurement
Yoga session for participants
Nutritional counseling
Distribution of IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials
Participation:
A total of 48 people attended the AYUSH OPD, including 39 women and 9 men, with a special focus on women’s health.
Key Findings:
Majority of participants reported musculoskeletal discomfort
Cases of mild to moderate anaemia were detected
A few cases of obesity were identified
The initiative was well-received by the community and highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, nutrition, yoga, and awareness in empowering women and strengthening family.
