Plantation Drive under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”
Pakyong, 20th September: Aligning with the Saturday Sweat Contribution activity under Connect Earth, the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive—an initiative of the Government of India implemented in the State under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister—was conducted at Ganchung Junior High School, Pakyong, by Block Education office Pakyong ,under the guidance of Mr. H. N. Shenga, Deputy Director, Education Department, BAC Pakyong.
On this occasion, a variety of fruit-bearing and ornamental plants, including Orange, Guava, and Erica Palm, were planted within the school premises with the active participation of the Headmistress, Ms. Rosnni Rai, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students.
The Block Education Office, Pakyong, extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Tshering Choppel Bhutia, Additional Director, Horticulture Department, for providing Orange saplings, and to Mr. Sonam Pintso Bhutia, DFO (Pakyong), for providing Guava saplings and Erica Palm plants.
The drive not only enhanced the greenery of the school campus but also instilled in students and the wider community a strong sense of environmental responsibility. Conducted under the guidance of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the initiative stands as a significant step towards sustainability and community participation, inspiring all to work collectively for a greener and healthier future.
