Launching of Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan
Namchi, 17 September: Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan was launched by the AYUSH Department at the New Hospital, Namchi District, on 17th September, marking the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. This campaign will continue till 2nd October 2025, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The inauguration programme was graced by Hon’ble Councilor Madam Mamta kalikotey followed by a welcome speech by Dr Neelima Thatal(HOD)AYUSH Department and an address by Chief Medical Officer Dr S.N Adhikari Sir
The main theme of this programme is to promote and improve the health of women, adolescent girls, and children, with a focus on early detection of health issues such as anaemia, non-communicable diseases, and cancers including cervical, breast, and oral cancers.
As September is observed as Poshan Maah, a display of various nutritious foods was arranged. A yoga session was also conducted by Yoga Instructor Mrs. Meenu Pradhan, along with health and diet tips shared by Dr.kavita Thapa
Screening for blood sugar and haemoglobin was carried out. The findings revealed cases of mild to moderate anaemia, high blood sugar, and elevated blood pressure, for which dietary advice was provided.
The programme concluded with the free distribution of AYUSH medicines, khada, refreshments, and IEC materials for puplic awareness.
