AYUSH Health Camp at Ridge Park with Special Focus on “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar”
Gangtok, September 17: The Department of AYUSH, Government of Sikkim, successfully organized a comprehensive health camp at Ridge Park, Gangtok, on Wednesday as part of the ongoing “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan.” This state-wide campaign, which will continue until October 2, 2025, is dedicated to promoting women’s health, child care, and holistic family well-being.
The camp witnessed an encouraging turnout, with a large number of women and families availing themselves of the free healthcare services provided. A dedicated medical team from the 10-bedded AYUSH Hospital, Sochakgang, led by Dr. Yamuna Sharma, Medical Officer (Homoeopathy), conducted a range of essential health screenings, including blood pressure checks, hemoglobin tests, random blood sugar tests, and BMI assessments.
In addition to the diagnostic services, AYUSH specialists offered personalized counselling sessions on healthy lifestyle practices, balanced nutrition, cancer prevention, rehabilitation, and other vital aspects of women’s health.
One of the key highlights of the camp was the free distribution of AYUSH medicines and natural immunity boosters such as Chyawanprash and Kadha, encouraging families to adopt traditional wellness practices alongside modern healthcare. To further spread awareness, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials were distributed, emphasizing preventive health measures and holistic well-being.Around 127 beneficiaries received the services during the camp.
The event served as a meaningful step towards empowering women and strengthening families through accessible, integrative healthcare, reflecting the government’s vision of a healthier and more resilient society.
