Namchi, 17th September: A cheque distribution ceremony under the Sikkim Aama Shashaktikaran Yojana was held today at Bhaichung Stadium, Namchi for the10- Poklok-Kamrang Constituency , celebrating and empowering mothers through direct financial support.
The event saw the active participation of local officials, panchayat members, and community leaders, marking a significant step towards women’s empowerment in the region.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Zilla Panchayat members, Panchayat Presidents, and Panchayat representatives from various wards under 10-Poklok-Kamrang Constituency.
Also in attendance were Sub-Divisional Magistrate (HQ) Namchi, BDO Namchi Mr Upendra Rai and BDO Nandugaon Mr MukeshDahal, reflecting the administrative commitment to grassroots welfare.
Key dignitaries included the President of the (CLC) 10-Poklok Kamarang Constituency,OSD Smart City Namchi, OSD to Hon’ble Minister, Urban Development Department (UDD), and executives from the CLC, all of whom highlighted the significance of the initiative and expressed gratitude for the state government’s continued focus on inclusive development.
Over the course of the program, cheques were handed over to the selected beneficiaries- mothers from various panchayat areas under Poklok Kamarang Constituency - as part of the Sikkim Aama Shashaktikaran Yojana, a flagship scheme aimed at strengthening the role of mothers in family and community life through financial empowerment.
Speaking at the event, officials emphasized that the scheme not only provides monetary assistance but also recognizes the invaluable contribution of mothers in society.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt thanks to the government and local administration for the timely and much-needed support.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from local leaders, who reiterated their commitment to further outreach and awareness to ensure that no eligible mother is left behind under the scheme.
