Two days refresher training for AI workers held at SLDB Deorali.
Gangtok, Sikkim — 16 September 2025:
The Sikkim Livestock Development Board (SLDB) successfully conducted a two-day refresher training programme for Artificial Insemination (AI) workers from across the state on 15–16 September 2025 at the SLDB premises in Deorali. The training aimed to update skills, reinforce best practices in AI service delivery, and strengthen field-level livestock reproductive management.
Key dignitaries who attended the programme included:
Day 1 (15 September 2025): Dr. Sandeep Gurung, Principal Director, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), attended as Chief Guest, accompanied by Dr. D.P. Pradhan, Director, as Guest of Honour.
Day 2 (16 September 2025): Dr. Sharman Rai, Secretary, AH&VS Department, attended as Chief Guest. Dr. Sonam P. Bhutia, Principal Director, and Dr. Karma T. Bhutia, Principal Director, were present as Guests of Honour.
The training was led by the principal resource person Dr Sanjay M Gazmer Director AH&VS Department for the two-day programme and was assisted by Dr. Tenzing Lobzang Bhutia, VO, SLDB.
Dr. Pratik Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, SLDB, delivered technical lecture on AI and its importance.He also delivered the welcome address and also presented the vote of thanks.
To further support frontline AI services, participating AI workers were provided with essential field equipment, including bags, AI guns, thermometers, umbrellas and gumboots.
SLDB reiterated its commitment to enhancing livestock productivity and animal health through continued capacity-building initiatives for field staff and stakeholders.
