Three-Day Packaging Training Underway at Government Fruit Preservation Factory, Singtam
Singtam, September 11:
The Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, has initiated a three-day Packaging Training program at the Government Fruit Preservation Factory (GFPF), Singtam.
The training program, which commenced on 10th September, is currently underway with expert faculties from the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Kolkata leading the sessions. The focus is on imparting modern packaging techniques to entrepreneurs, food processors, and local stakeholders engaged in food production and value addition.
The initiative is aimed at equipping participants with practical knowledge of scientific packaging, improving product shelf life, ensuring quality and safety standards, and strengthening the marketability of Sikkim’s produce.
The training reflects the government’s commitment to building capacity and supporting local industries through skill development.
