Physiotherapy Experts Conduct Workplace Ergonomics Session at DMG
Gangtok, September 09: World Physiotherapy Day is observed on 8th of September. Physiotherapy has become a crucial part of our healthcare system, and greater awareness in this field is much needed.
The Department of Mines and Geology (DMG), Government of Sikkim, was honoured to host a team of Physiotherapists from Sikkim Manipal College of Physiotherapy for an Ergonomic Awareness Session at the Mines and Geology Headquarters, Gangtok, on 9th September 2025.
The programme aimed to provide valuable insights to help officers and staff adopt healthier workplace practices and safeguard their well-being. The session included:
• Demonstrations of exercises and posture correction techniques
• One-to-one interaction for clearing individual doubts
• Suggestions for corrective measures in office setup
The initiative was well-received and is expected to contribute significantly towards promoting a healthier and more productive workplace environment.
DMG extends its gratitude to Prof. Nikita Joshi Sonowa, Principal & HOD, Sikkim Manipal College of Physiotherapy, 5th Mile, Tadong, for organising the programme, and to Dr. Bishal Bista, Dr. Rahul Kumar, and Dr. Bidhya Bhattarai for conducting the session.
