Gyalshing District inaugurates Training Programme on Manual Metal Arc Welding / Shielded Metal Arc Welding Welder
Gyalshing,September 1:
Training Programme on Manual Metal Arc Welding / Shielded Metal Arc Welding Welder for Scheduled Caste (SC) beneficiaries was inaugurated today at Sakyong, Gyalshing District under the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY)of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of India.
The programme was organised by the State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB) under the Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim.
The inaugural function was graced by the presence of Zilla Member Yangtey GPU Ms Krishna Kumari Chettri as Chief guest accompanied by Panchayat President Yangtey GPU Mr KB Limboo,Upper Onglok Ward Panchayat Mr Dilip Rai, and Upper Bhaluthang Panchayat Member Mr Mohan Basnett.
The programme was also attended by Instructor Mr Nirmal Karki and the Welfare Inspector Mr Thuzang Bhutia.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief guest emphasised that such training initiatives play a crucial role in empowering Scheduled Caste youth by equipping them with practical skills in welding. Fyrther she expressed gratitude to the department for organising such people centric training programmes in the area for the general benefit of the local community.
Others addressing the gathering highlighted that such trainings will help participants gain employment opportunities, enhance self-reliance, and contribute to local development.It will also provide beneficiaries with hands-on knowledge of metal arc welding, enabling them to pursue careers in industrial and infrastructural sectors while improving their livelihoods.
