Badminton Association of Sikkim Organises Send-Off Ceremony for State Team Heading to North East Zonal Badminton Championship 2025
Gangtok, August 30: The Badminton Association of Sikkim (BAS) organised a special send-off ceremony for the Sikkim State Badminton Team participating in the upcoming North East Zonal Badminton Championship 2025, scheduled to be held from 4th to 7th September 2025 at Agartala, Tripura.
The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble President of BAS, Shri Jacob Khaling, along with Vice Presidents Dr. Tshering N. Gyatso and Shri Thendup T. Bhutia, General Secretary Shri Sukanta Das, and Treasurer Shri Karma Bhutia.
Addressing the players, Shri Jacob Khaling extended his heartfelt best wishes and encouraged them to give their best performance, reminding them that they carry not only their own dreams but also the aspirations of Sikkim.
In a motivational gesture, the Hon’ble President also announced that BAS will proudly honor any player who brings home medals with special cash rewards as a token of appreciation and encouragement:
₹25,000/- for Gold
₹15,000/- for Silver
₹10,000/- for Bronze
He further emphasized that these rewards are not just about winning medals, but also about recognising the hard work, discipline, and determination of the players who inspire the next generation of shuttlers in Sikkim.
The ceremony concluded with a group photograph and warm wishes from the office bearers, marking the beginning of what promises to be a memorable journey for the team.
