In continuation of his commitment to holistic development and institutional strengthening under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Sikkim, Dr. Indra Hang Subba had previously facilitated the distribution of essential resources to various schools and NGOs across the state. Aiming to the enhancement and upgradation of Libraries in various Government Schools, computers, printers, photocopy machines, projectors and screens, computer tables, revolving and fixed chairs, and bookshelves especially for libraries has been presented in addition to enhance educational infrastructure and operational efficiency.
Today, under the guidance and direction of Hon’ble MP, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Mr. Nosang Limboo commenced the monitoring and assessment of these distributed Library support and enhancement units at their respective beneficiary institutions.
The first visit was conducted at Government Senior Secondary School, Kechuperi, in Gyalshing District. During the visit, OSD Nosang Limboo found that the equipment provided under MPLADS was being utilized effectively in designated areas such as the school’s office and library.
School Principal, Shri Rudra Mani Sharma, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble MP Dr. Subba for the much-needed support. He also appreciated the rare yet commendable follow-up initiative to assess the impact and utilization of the distributed resources.
The Principal, along with former school in-charge Shri Laal Man Limboo, guided the visiting officer through the facilities where the library resources had been deployed.
The ongoing assessment program will continue to cover all beneficiary schools and NGOs across Sikkim, ensuring transparency, accountability, and optimal use of resources provided under MPLADS.
